We can’t stop watching Jordan Spieth’s “no-look putt”

Well that was absolutely insane. This shows you how there is little disjuncture between Jordan’s brain and his putting stroke, something we all see when he choses to stare at the hole during short putts.

Most people consider Jordan to be the greatest putter of all time, a tag that seems hasty for such a young guy. Watching his first round, which needed just 21 putts, was a pure masterclass in how to handle the shortest stick. It reinforced what we all know, if you can hole putts you can compensate for poor ball striking. Jordan missed 8/14 fairways and 11/18 greens during Thursday’s play, but somehow managed to shoot 68. This ability to play poorly and still score has to be his greatest weapon.

Another player who deserves plaudits for his putting was the man of the moment. DJ’s reputation for falling away at the weekend is a distant memory.
