PETA wants Andrew “BEEF” Johnston to change his nickname

Lately, no one can get enough of professional golfer Andrew Johnston, better known as BEEF.

This guy gives his stuff away to fans, does cannonballs for Rio, lets his niece play with his beard and a lot of other ridiculous and hilarious things! Not to mention he’s fairly good at golf as well. As in he’s better than you.

This is Wat I did yesterday afternoon. My niece is funny

Apparently the UK PETA team decided to send Mr. Johnston a nice letter, telling him that they weren’t too fond of his BEEF nickname.

“Like many others, we’ve been enthusiastically following your career, and we thought we’d send you a gift of delicious vegan steaks and burgers in the hope that you’ll consider adopting a kinder, healthier vegan lifestyle, which would pave the way for a new nickname: Andrew “Tofu” Johnston.

Your new nickname would also raise awareness of the urgent need to move towards a cruelty-free lifestyle to offset the worst effects of climate change. According to the United Nations, animal agriculture is “one of the top two or three most significant contributors to the most serious environmental problems, at every scale from local to global.”

Sean Bean knows. One does not simply change their nickname and offset climate change. Maybe they could have worked with him on a campaign, but seriously? Andrew “Tofu” Johnston? Not gonna fly.

The funniest part about it is, Beef said that his nickname didn’t even come from meat. It came from his friends and other kids calling him “Beefhead” when he was younger and the beef part stuck. Now he gets his clubs engraved with different types of Beef, so I doubt the name is going anywhere anytime soon.
