The man who bailed his brother out of prison to play golf

The Kenmare Golf Club holds an event specifically for brothers. One brother was willing to pay the ultimate price to ensure his brother could play.

Located about 60 miles west of Cork, Kenmare GC hold a unique tournament every year. The organisers offer visitors a “cead mile failte” (Gaelic for “1,000 welcomes”) and they keep their promise, as you will see.

“Teams of 3 brothers compete over the two days for team and individual prizes. If you are interested in playing in the Three Brothers Golf Tournament and have not already applied for the waiting list please don’t hesitate to contact us as soon as possible, as places get snapped up quickly. “If you’re not in, you can’t win…”

You heard correctly, the guy near the end was bailed out of jail by his brother.

“I was arrested, oh, about a…half an hour ago…in Kilarney, my brother roles down from Cork, took me out of the cell and then says for “fork sake man, there’s a game of golf today.”

The tournament offers “stay and play” packages starting at £330 ($430). This includes two green fees, 3 nights accommodation, a full Irish breakfast each morning and an unquantifiable amount of fun. This should be in the pipeline if you have two brothers.

This whole thing made me want to watch Boondock Saints again.
