Ryder Cup player unleashes hell after his plane ticket is downgraded

Rafael Cabrera Bello went on a Twitter tirade after his seat was downgraded to economy.

What is it with golfers and taking to social media to talk about their travelling woes? Oh I know, when you have a large social following it’s a lot easier to get shit done when you start publicly disparaging an airline.

Rafa is making his Ryder Cup debut and was running low on patience as he boarded a plane to Hazeltine.

It’s natural to go after the golfer for being precious, I mean most of us travel economy and it’s no big deal…

Here’s how it all went down:

The reason Rafa decided to tag Lee Westwood is clear. The Englishman was messed around by the same airline before this year’s U.S. Open, and showed his fellow golfers how to get shit done. The Englishman unloaded 17 tweets in under an hour, attacking every aspect of British Aiways. Needless to say, BA got their shit together very quickly after Lee’s criticisms were retweeted 350 times – that’s a lot of bad publicity (Almost 1 million people were exposed to BA’s failure, theoretically).

So what do you think? Should Rafa man-up and show some stoicism, or does he have a point? One comment defended the Spaniard by arguing that an attendee of one of the most prestigious sporting events in the world should be treated accordingly.

It’s easy to jump on the bandwagon and sink your teeth into Rafa, but we would all want to start a trip of this gravity in style. Then again, I would travel with baggage if it meant I could play in the Ryder Cup.
