WATCH: Patrick Reed with the unluckiest break of 2016 at the HSBC Champions

Ever wondered how unlucky you can get on a golf course. Look no further.

The 26-year-old is playing in the WGC-HSBC Champions. Reed opened up with a first-round 78, and was 7-over par when he was playing the eighth hole at Sheshan Golf Club. Then this happened.

GCW with this bit of banter..

Ouch!

What’s really weird about this is how the exact same thing happened to DJ last year. It even happened on the same hole to make this coincidence even spookier…

Although, as Golf Digest pointed out, DJ’s bad luck cost him $500,000. Reed is 6th from bottom so probably best to take this on the chin and pray the Golf Gods administer luck when it’s actually needed.
