People outraged by a clip showing Jason Day’s unacceptable pace of play

Jason Day has a reputation for taking too long over his shots. Finally, evidence has emerged of his snail-like behaviour on the links.

Jason Day was the centre of multiple jokes leading up to the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. The Australian was unwavering in his insistence that pace of play was not an issue:

“In my opinion, I don’t care so much about speeding up my game. I’ve got to get back to what makes me good. If that means I have to back off five times, then I’m going to back off five times before I have to actually hit the shot.

This latest video is the straw that broke the camel’s back. How can we sit idly by as one of golf’s biggest stars operates with such a flagrant disregard for reasonable playing time?

The internet responded in classic fashion:

A story recently came out about how even the pro’s are sick and tired of Jason Day’s slow play. If his peers are on his back about his pace then wouldn’t you think he’d learn it’s time to pick it up? But no, Day is perfectly content with slowing everyone else down so he can hit his shot the way he wants to.

You can’t really blame him when the prize money is worth the extra few minutes. He may be the worst offender, but it doesn’t seem like he’s changing his ways any time soon.
