A luxury doomsday resort is building an apocalypse safe golf course

Trident Lakes is a luxury doomsday community that decided it needed a golf course to surround its underground condos. While you’re waiting for the world to end, might as well play 18.

The community is located in Northeast Texas and will feature over 530 fortified subterranean condominiums built to withstand the apocalypse (whatever that might be). Each condo will be 90% underground to keep its occupants minds at ease.

Other amenities that are being built include a spa, 100-stall equestrian center, four miles of jogging/biking trails, five gun ranges, tennis courts, polo fields, indoor gym, shops, restaurants, and statue of Poseidon holding a golden trident, billed as one of the largest in the world.

Marveling at our dig out so far for our first underground condos! #tridentlakes

The golf course is clearly only one of many features you can enjoy before the zombie outbreak happens. It will be named the “Course Of The Gods” and will be designed by David Edsall of DE Golf Design.

“Dave’s experience and vision fits perfectly with the special community we are building. We’re confident we’ll have a golf course that exceeds our residents’ lofty expectations.”

Trident Lakes CEO Jim O’Connor

The 18 hole course will cover 700 acres of land and will go along with the resort’s Greek mythology them. Hence the oversized Triton statue. The par-4 18th hole will finish over two ponds and be called “Poseidon’s Revenge and other holes will have names like  “Zeus”, “Hermes”, and “Nesoi”.

A security personnel, including former U.S. Navy SEAL and decorated security diplomat Robert I. Kaneiss, will guard a wall surrounding the community and there will be helipads for coming and going.

Sounds like the perfect place to die.
