Darren Clarke joins the booze industry with his own business

Darren Clarke has decided to start a new venture in his life that celebrates one of his favorite vices, alcohol. Welcome to the booze business, Darren Clarke’s Tavern.

Clarke took to Twitter over the weekend to announce his new bar that will be opening this summer in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

This seems like a good place to put energy wasted on 2016 Ryder Cup regrets (as he’s still crying over the loss). Since then he hasn’t played much at all, which makes us think this is more of a new career path than just a business venture.

Clarke follows in fellow Irishman Graeme McDowell’s footsteps. McDowell opened his own bar, named Nona Blue, which has since become a chain in Florida. Tiger Woods is the bar/restaurant industry as well, with his bar called The Woods in Jupiter, FL.

If you don’t remember, after winning The Open, Darren Clarke told the media (ineligibly) that he hadn’t slept all night and had quite a few pints, beers, and glasses of wine. I think a bar is exactly the type of business he should be going into. He doesn’t discriminate against different types of alcoholic beverages.

Cheers!
