PGA Tour rookie finds his Masters motivation

PGA Tour rookie, Grayson Murray, has had a unique approach to the traditional game of golf since the moment he got his Tour card. He showed up wearing a t-shirt and missing his front tooth from biting into a chicken wing.

So it should come as no surprise to anyone that Murray has taken his Twitter shenanigans to a whole new level by asking Playboy model Lindsey Pelas to caddy for him. Not just anywhere either, but at the par-3 tournament at the Masters.

She was quick to respond:

After receiving a yes, Murray tweeted, “Ayyyy. Looks like I got some motivation now.” Of course the seemingly small conversation went instantly viral, getting Paige Spiranac’s attention as well. She offered the model some golfing lessons and her response was, “From you? Absolutely.”

Pelas also spoke to Sports Illustrated about the whole ordeal, telling them that she actually hopes Murray wins at the Shell Houston Open next week.

“Some offers are too fun to turn down. I’ve seen Happy Gilmore way too many times to say no to this. I’m hoping Grayson pulls through… and the dress code isn’t too strict.”

The thing is, Murray hasn’t exactly had smooth sailing since receiving his Tour card. He’s missed eight cuts in eleven tournaments, putting him in a difficult qualifying position for the Masters. He’ll have to win the Shell Houston Open for this whole dream scenario to actually occur, which is highly unlikely after shooting an 85-75 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

So far, Jon Rahm is the only 2017 Tour rookie to make it to the Masters this year. There’s still a week to go but other rookies like Beef, Bryson DeChambeau, and Wesley Bryan need to make a strong push if they want to see their name on the Masters roster.
