Sergio Garcia prepares for the best day of his life

The Champion Golfer of the Year has been named, but Jordan Spieth isn’t the only player on Tour celebrating this week. Sergio Garcia will travel from Royal Birkdale to Texas for another major event.

The Spaniard will take a week off from participating in any tournament to marry fiancé Angela Akins on Saturday. The couple have been together since 2015, and many believe Garcia’s recent success is attributed to their relationship.

“I think she’s been a good calming effect on him,” Marty Akins, Angela’s father, said during the 2017 Masters Championship. “He was a great player before he met Angela. I think he’s an even greater player not that they’re together. I do think she’s good for him.”

After beating Justin Rose in the first playoff hole at Augusta for his first major win, many others are certainly inclined to agree with Marty.

The pair announced their engagement at the beginning of 2017.

The relationship these two have built is like any other on, and off, the course. Players on Tour are looked at as strong, levelheaded (most of the time), and fierce competitors. But as the saying goes: “Behind every great man, there’s a great woman.”

The Garcia’s aren’t the only one’s who prove that saying to be true. Here are some other married couples on Tour:

So, whether you’ve had skin in the game for decades, newlyweds, or are close to tying the knot these couples prove to have found success in both life and in golf.
