Sick Kicks: Justin Thomas Receives Custom POY Golf Shoes

It was definitely Justin Thomas’ year. He emerged from beneath Jordan Spieth’s shadow and showed the world that he is so much more than a sidekick, he’s the whole package.

Thomas’ accomplishments this past season did not go unrecognized, as he received the Player of the Year award. He even had a nice little chat with Jack Nicklaus, who the award is named after and congratulated the young star.

FootJoy, Justin Thomas’ shoe sponsor, also felt inclined to recognize their greatest endorser (even though it seems like they sponsor half the Tour), creating customized shoes for the POY. The company collaborated with Kickasso Kustoms to produce a sick pair of spikes.

If golfers didn’t know there was anything more than just white golf shoes , they do now . @justinthomas34 @footjoy

The shoes feature some of his greatest accomplishments from the season, including tournaments he won and his scoring average of 69.4. What a great number.

Kickasso Kustoms has worked with many different organizations, including the NFL, where he’s made some seriously awesome cleats. He’s created shoes for Odell Beckham Jr., the Rams color rush, Jarvis Landry, and numerous others.

🐐 …. Its bigger than football.

His other custom kicks are literal pieces of art, ranging from film references to beloved television characters. It seems like his recent obsession is with the critically acclaimed horror flick, It.

If creepy clowns are not your thing, enjoy this mash-up of Rick from Rick and Morty and Homer from the Simpsons.

The best of both worlds …. I’m launching a brand new website really soon with all new sneakers and merch!

But seriously, this guy has some outrageous talent. Besides collaborating with probably every relevant brand, he is bringing life to something people use every day, shoes.

The fact that FootJoy is collaborating with an artist definitely garners some respect on their front. Plus the post says that the Justin Thomas kicks were just the first of many in a series. So who will be featured next? It will definitely be someone who FJ sponsors, so it could be anyone from Adam Scott to Kevin Na. Stay tuned.
