Game 1 of the 2017 World Series was nothing short of what we would expect. There was dominance on the mound from both Dallas Keuchel and Clayton Kershaw. In the end, Kershaw outlasted Keuchel as the pitched seven strong and struck out 11 in his World Series debut.
Justin Turner continues to come up in clutch situations, hitting a two-run home run in the 6th that would give the Dodgers bullpen all the run support necessary to close out Game 1 in LA.

We return for Game 2 on Wednesday night as pitching will continue to be a storyline and offense may remain a premium. The Astros will send lights-out starter Justin Verlander to the mound to face the Dodgers Rich Hill.
Verlander (RHP) is 4-0 with a 1.46 ERA this postseason. He has racked up 24 strikeouts in 24.2 innings pitched. Hill (LHP) is winless this postseason but has a 3.00 ERA in 9 innings pitched.
With the stage set, it’s time to choose the best bets provided by Bovada.lv to take in Game 2 of the Fall Classic. (All payouts are based on bets of $100)
Total Runs Scored: Under 5 1/2
Payout: $270.00. With a dominant Verlander tugging the rubber for Houston, it’s hard to imagine the Dodgers milking any more than 1-2 runs tops. Even then it seems unlikely.
Rich Hill is no cakewalk when facing him but the Astros bats cannot be silenced for long. Especially after a game where they could only score one run. Look for the offense to click for Houston on Wednesday as Verlander dials it up on the mound.
Over 3 1/2 Runs Scored By The Astros
Payout: $190.91. Sticking with the theme of offense, it’s likely that the Astros will be able to hit Rich Hill early and often. Hill’s pitching motion, even if it is herky-jerky, shouldn’t be too difficult for this Astros lineup which primarily hits from the right side of the plate. George Springer, Carlos Correa, and Yulieski Gurriel all went hitless in Game 1, don’t bet on that to happen again in Game 2.
Justin Verlander Over 7 Strikeouts
Payout: $171.43. Verlander has one strikeout per full inning pitched this postseason. In short, the man is in the zone as no one has been able to touch his pitching this postseason. Ever since he was traded mid-season to the Astros, the team has worked with him to improve his cutter. That cutter has become a true slider since the trade and it is deadly. That pitch will be on full display against this young Dodgers lineup.

Jose Altuve Records a Hit
Payout: $136.36. Jose Altuve has only gone hitless four times in 12 postseason games. As the American League’s leading hitter, this bet is almost a gimmie. Altuve’s average rose 11 points to .353 when facing left-handers during 2017, as opposed to his .344 average against righties.
George Springer Records The First Home Run Of The Game (+1100)
Payout: $1200.00. This bet is a bit of a wild card but will be well-rewarded if it hits. Springer has a great chance to hit the first home run of Game 2 since he will likely leadoff for the Astros. Springer has hit 18 home runs when leading off a game, so it’s not far-fetched to think that Springer can unload on one as the first batter of Game 2.
